COACHES’ CODE OF ETHICS

  1. I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, managers, coaches, and officials at every practice, game, or league event.

  1. I will place the emotional and physical well being of the children ahead of any personal desire to win.

  1. I will insist that the children play in a safe and healthy environment.

  1. I will provide support for managers, coaches, and officials working with the children to provide a positive, enjoyable experience for all.

  1. I will demand a drug, alcohol, and tobacco free sports environment for the children and agree to assist in this by refraining from their use at all youth sports events.

  1. I will remember that the game is for the children and not for the adults.

  1. I will do my best to make the league fun for the children.

  1. I will ask the children to treat other players, coaches, fans, and officials with respect, regardless of race, sex, creed, or ability.

  1. I understand that if I fail to comply with any of the provisions of this Code of Ethics, or that if I exhibit any conduct that violates the spirit of this Code of Ethics, I may be dismissed as a manager or coach.  I further understand that I have the right to appeal the dismissal within 24 hours, in writing, to the League Director for review by the members of the Board of Pacific Grove PONY Baseball/Softball.  If the Board denies an appeal I agree to accept the Board’s decision as final.
